Fairies vs Tentacles

Hi everyone, I hope February didn’t mangle you too bad, let’s get to March!
This month we have 5 color pages, which will get us quite close to wrapping chapter 16 and starting the very weird chapter 17, right before summer. chapter 18 and 19 are 95% done scripting, with some tweaking left to do. This month I’m also starting a new minicomic that will be related to a much older chapter, but that I might consider integrating in the definitive edition, when I get back to that. No ETA yet, sorry!
I will also need to build a dedicated sfw commission/donation/subscription page soon, as things on discord seem to be in flux and I need to futureproof my business, but we’ll see if I have time for this this month or will delay it to later.

Happy New year everyone!

2025 was a doozy, but we pulled through. I finally got the island map completed, we got some really nice chapters sketched, and a lot of amazing fvt-related commissions were made or are in the works. The battle plan for 2026 is to do some work on the website to add a minicomic section and flourish my commission page to add a gallery with the non-fvt content in it. After some of that is out of the way, I would like to restart the work on the Definitive edition, but that will likely be in the second half of 2026, and I will use a similar workflow to the island map last October, which mean a little bit every day, until completion, so don’t expect weekly bonus pages, especially on this budget, but the work will finally move forward again. I also need to get some serious scripting done. I would like to conclude the main story arc, at last. Once that is done in script I would finally be able to put a goalpost for the comic rather than being vague about it. But we’ll see how this year shapes up.

Hi everyone, so a few news today; While fvt’s direct funding has been slightly decreasing over time, commission funding has been going way, way up, and some of it involve fvt, in terms of random pictures, minicomic project, character sheets, lore exploration and so forth, so I would say the project overall is still very healthy, there’s just been a change in the focus of the spending. So I want to make this clear, while I might increase my commission prices in the future to match inflation and other economical issues, FvT’s funding goals will probably stay the same forever. At this point the project has a certain legacy and influence that goes beyond the next Monday page, and I should probably see it as a marketing expenditure rather than my monthly livelihood. Of course it would be nice if we got more direct funding in the future to pay for more pages/week, but I will simply not worry about it. I’m setting dedicated tasks to the script to push that part of the story to full completion, followed by the sketch pages, and the color pages will catch up whenever they want!

Other bits of news, I’ve also dedicated a little bit of time every day to work on the Island map, rather than foolishly hoping to have time to spend 10 straight hours on it, and it showed serious progress. The map should be completed before 2026. Seeing the success of this endeavor, I hope afterward I could apply a similar treatment to the definitive edition, but that’s a consideration after the map is completed.

Hi everyone! This month, FvT is celebrating its 11th anniversary! Can’t believe I’ve been working on this for over a quarter of my life now @_@. I wish I could have completed the color map by now but changes in my workflow brought a bit of chaos in the last few months, along with the general state of everything, let’s be honest. But I’ll get back to it at some point, I promise. Still, there will be a bonus picture to celebrate the occasion, as usual~

Hi everyone! So, a lot happened in July, I’ll try to cover it all. First, to pad the decrease in funding for the comic due to the general economical uncertainty of the world, some high tier supporter banded together to use their saved up commission token to ensure weekly page updates for, well a very long time as it is. Thank you for your unwavering support! That being said, if you do feel like contributing to the continuation of the project, even 2$ can go a long way if enough people donate~

Secondly, after working for 9 years on Grim Fate Comics, I’ve finally decided to leave for good. It was a long time coming, but I just couldn’t continue anymore. Reasons are personal and I will not elaborate here, but now I plan to focus on FvT and commissions fully. With this in mind, I’ve updated my commission process with monthly slots and a month to month breakdown of the customer list, so far October is wide open if some are interested, link to the right of the page~
