As for the anatomy of antennae, does this mean that there are “antenna sockets” in the frontal plates where they are attached, like how an elephant’s truck is attached to/around its nasal cavity?

There are several holes all over the antenna. Can be seen in the anatomy drawing or here in realiatic drawing
