Maybe the nihillium senses an impending crisis and is trying desperately to evolve a solution?
That’s more of a programming problem…then again they’re working with an organic type of ship structure. So I have no idea how this all work’s.
It’s problem in loading the program. Normally, all nihillium in body of Nihallak is supposed to run the same program. However, you need the nihillium to cooperate in loading it, just like you can’t do a firmware update on bricked phone unless you open it and connect to the chip directly (and you can’t “open” nihillium, it’s subatomic particle). Worse, the nihillium can pretend to load the program but only load part of it or not fully replace the previous programming and you need to do some testing to find out.
When they were only using nihillium which was previously part of them, it wasn’t issue, as the programming was practically always compatible, not counting random errors by radiation or something. However, it seems that nihillium which went through fairy may not be fully compatible and would resist programming.
