Well, she must’ve done SOMETHING, you can’t slam the door if you portal out. Presumably. Actually, I guess slamming the door with portal would probably be even more destructive.
So yeah, she decided to play vabanque: she basically ASSUMES that other fairies will fail to contain the invasion and would came back to her begging for help.
Of course, even if it would work, she will get VERY bad reputation. (Unless she manage to shift blame to Lucky, who apparently orchestrated current crisis because she can see future and knows that the alternative would be even worse. Hmmm … what would the “worse” be? Ominae killing all other star fairies? I’m sure she COULD do that if she had moment of surprise on her side.)
Logically speaking, she should’ve stayed and waited for answer. But she already knows the answer. This is not first time they have this discussion and they know each other for long time, so they can predict what others will do even not counting telepathy and similar powers.
I actually think that while Galaxy totally triggered her deliberately, it wasn’t purposefully – it wasn’t because she would want her out, it was because she doesn’t like her.
I also agree that there wasn’t really good way for Ominae to handle this. Just several bad ones. Now, other fairies COULD changed something and turn this to better, but, well, they don’t want to.
I think it’s less “They don’t want too” and more of “How would you even go about it” kind of scenario.
A regular leader is hard enough to change the mind of. Try changing the mind of someone who’s lived for Hundreds of year’s. While Also having the same person hear the same argument’s from someone Else who’s lived for hundreds of year’s.
It’d be like trying to break down a brick wall with a shovel.
Hot take: I think Galaxy is Ominae’s mom. That’s why they’re always so tense and at each other’s throats. Deep down, they might really love each other, despite their fundamental differences of opinion/perspective on fairy civilization.
Ooh, I never considered that, but she’s younger than the rest of them by 2000 years – someone had to have her!
We get the impression that the star fairy population has remained static, with the exception of Ominae (…and Lucky??) there have been no births or deaths in the last 5000 years. Which means whoever broke tradition is there at the meeting with them. And I count, what, 6 star fairies? Star, Nebula, Comet, Celestia, Nova and Galaxy?
Seven star fairies. They were forbodden from having kids but one broke the rules
Fairy population grew stadilly but the fairy war drastically cut down their numbers and they are still revovering. On averidge fairies live about 500 years as they can due from trauma. They ageless but not immortal

yep. All point’s I brought up before. She’s not wrong, but she’s not right either.
Not even sure there is a right or wrong in this scenario.
A few on discord did bring up she could have still stayed and keep up to date with current situation. But guessing she hss her own plans
Also i think Galaxy purpesfully triggered her so she would leave

Yeah. Also not hundreds but thoughsand years old
Stars are over 5000 years old. Ominae is 3000 years old. So yeah they can be stuborn due to living so long
Worse. I think that you can break down brick wall few thousand years old with a shovel just fine.
Yeah, their ability to adapt is lacking a lot. Luckily, Nihallaks are not much better in this regard.

That is a possibility. Could explain her being so strickt now – since she would feels guilty she broke star fairy taboo and had a kid
Hoping we will learn who her mom is at some point
I like that – it really fits nicely!
