I really love this page especially the nihallak with a fairy face that scares the emperor so much I also noticed a little easter egg the one called 977 strangely resembles the first drawing of the nihallaks visible in “Bonus Art” especially in the drawing called “Early nihallak design”!
i think the corrupted nihilium in the ship is not trying to make the nihilaks more like fairies (at least not yet). it has the personality of fairies and its aware its making nihalaks so its having fun with it and experimenting. thats why they appear random. its cuz they are. the ship is relearning how to make nihalaks and seeing what it can do
