I think Nextgener was assuming that the antennae were fairy ears, like with some insects. Although insects use antennae more for smell, but fairies have noses, so what do I know?
My hot take on the matter, especially when it comes to things like Elf ears, is that those sensory organs are meant to be very good at sensing/catching sounds (as some settings have elf ears being very mobile, like cat ears). That imply a lot of muscles and nerve endings to do a proper job. So that also mean more sensitive to the touch, good or bad. Caressing them might feel very good but pinching them would give them great pain and an instant headache for example.
If it would be just for hearing, all nerve endings related to this are INSIDE the inner ear. But if the ear is mobile and assumed to focus in direction of sound, yeah, that might require lot of muscles and nerve endings for feedback. Compare with lips, which have lot of nerve endings as tactile sensor AND for precise movement to help create different sounds.

What is it with mystical creatures and always having they’re long ear’s be erogenous zones?
Not complaining, just comes up Alot.
Not too sure actually
Also fairies don’t have ears – their antenna are their hearing organs

Certainly that is how Ferengi ears worked.
