You certainly aren’t a knife person, because the way Prue’s cutting that tentacle means once she’s done, the blade will probably slip and go into her side. Probably not an accidental disembowelling, but it’s certainly not going to be pleasant.
Remember, cut away from your body, and keep the knife blade facing away from your body (e.g. like Prue in panels 3/4)
Yeah I don’t actually use a knife like that at all (I use them on a cutting board?) and didn’t think about it until the page was basically done. The next page is already finished and her stance is different. I think it’s funny how many people on the discord got bothered by it 😛
If anything, I like to believe that in the context casual people would make mistakes like that when trying to get a grip on something like a plant-tentacle in a fight/emergency situation, Prue’s no fighter either.
A mistake is certainly possible on Prue’s part, but I’m not 100% sure if people will buy it. It’s all well and good to say that Prue’s not a fighter (true), but she has used a knife before. She’ll presumably know about knife safety, and how that’s a really bad idea.
Now that I think about it though… A bigger question is would a knife even cut a plant tentacle? One of the basic assumptions of cutting with a knife/bladed instrument is that whatever you’re cutting can’t flex out of the way, and the entire premise of a tentacle is that it can flex anywhere. Huh.
Maybe the motivation for that stance is Prue trying to pin the tentacle against her body so that the knife can cut it all. I’m just not going to think about how absurdly dangerous that it…
Some cares and considerations in safety are probably drilled into their people less than we do just because of how quick/easy/efficient it is to get someone to repair your injuries. For us, this mistake would mean a hospital visit and stitches and weeks recovering before the stitches could be removed. For them, it can be fully healed within seconds of finding the right type of faerie.
The plant is energizing, it might get strong or blow, hope that the tentacles that Prue cut will not regenerate into another tentacle plant. That will be a serious problem to her and to the town. And I think that Prue is the next pray for the plant. Magdalia is loving it for sure! By the face that Prue shows in the last panel I think that the plant gab her too or she feels the magic energy flowing true the plant.
we’re on the third day since the comic began. Yeah that seem forever ago, but that’s because of the update rate. If you read the comic in one go it’s done in a few hours lol.

I managed to slice bread in wrong way and the bread wasn’t trying to get out so much. I agree that making mistake in rush is possible.

Yeah fairies might be less careful in different aspect in life than us. ANd can be chocked up to her being in a rush 😀
Minutes, not seconds. Even if you had the light fairy next to you, she will spent a minute lecturing you how you are wasting her time and energy.
I see in 5th panel the tentacle around Magdalia’s breast is shapeshifting it’s tip. Wonder what it will form

I lost count of the days pass since the Nihailaks invasion. Can someone tell me please?
