I think this is the end for Aquei, Holly and Irah they are going to be the next pray for the horny plant.
At least one of the faires escape
Aquei is getting sorrounded by the plant but she looks calm. Holly and Irah they look scared they need help asap!
It’s not exactly end, the plant will only fuck them, not kill them. And there is help on way. Assuming that fairy who run away on 443 found the star guard. And that they would be more useful than these three.
It’s not that they don’t have siblings at all, but fairy reproduction depend on the magic cave, and the magic cave has limited space. It’s already difficult for a fairy couple to get on the list, so for them to get on the list TWICE is even trickier. Also fairies are technically immortal, pending accidents, so sometime couples break or things change, so maybe a 700 years old fairy might get 2 offspring, but they’ll be half sisters at best, separated by decades if not centuries. While fairies only have 1 gender, their relationship dynamics can be as complicated if not more complicated than humans.
If the number of fairies grows, it DOES mean that average fairy has more than two children before she dies. However, that “before she dies” takes hundreds of years, so it’s likely not common for couples to take that long, AND maybe fairies don’t count themselves as siblings if they are centuries apart, because while the relationship is still there the dynamic is very different from classical sibling dynamics and is closer to aunt-niece.
Although … DOES fairy number grow? With the cave limit, it’s possible it grew in past but already reached the point where the cave makes as much new fairies as there are fatal accidents.
fairy population grows at around 200 fairies a year. it takes half a year to make a fairy and cave can only support about 100 cocoons at a time. so their population is growing but slowly. however the fairy civil war did drop the number by a lot at one point
Interesting. So Fairy’s definitely consider themselves female then even though they are hermaphroditic, and are aware of the concept of males (if I’m remembering from the conversation with Queen) but Nihallaks are still genderless?
Fairy society and culture is based on Draigjibies society and culture, including access to books written about Draigjibies presumably. Also presumably, Draigjibies language was gendered enough reworking it would take serious effort which noone is interested in making. Quite the contrary, there is little language evolution happening, thanks to fairies longevity (I think this was already mentioned somewhere by authors). And while designed as hermaphroditic, the design WAS based on female.
Meanwhile, Kulthma might’ve been already genderless, and they likely saw Nihallaks as machines.

Run little electric, run for your sexy life
Holly surprised about Aquei having sister is because fairies rarely have any siblings
Wait, if they don’t have siblings, wouldn’t the amount of fairies halve with every generation? Since it still takes two to create one.

Even outside the war, how many fairies are killed by monsters per year for example? And how many due to accidents when flying drunk or what it was?
Hmmm not sure. Currently I know that fairy average lifespan is about 500 years
Talk about a, Heated Debate!
…i’ll let myself out.
