I like that they didn’t entrusted the armor design to pink fairy and therefore didn’t ended with plates directing attacks to center of body so many female “armors” designed by men who never fought have.
… not like Stars, who apparently made that mistake with their extreme conditions battlesuit. On the other hand, it’s primarily designed to protect from environment, not for close combat, so it’s probably not so important.
star suits are durable but they are more for helping them with their abilities. Stars not need much armor when they can erect telekinetic barriers or other protections
So about the whole “directing attacks to the center of the body” – it doesn’t actually work like that. It’s a common myth, but boob plate is perfectly serviceable when made to the same standards as normal armour. Attacks redirected towards the sternum will A) lose much of their power when redirected by the boob, B) no longer be in line with the original strike so will lose power on the follow through, C) find themselves on another curved surface meaning they will tend to slide up or down the sternum and lose even more power in the process, and D) still be hitting into solid plate metal. If you’ve heard of the Murder Stroke, half-handing the sword and using the pommel as a club, that came about because full plate armour was so incredibly effective against swords that people just kind of gave up on trying to pierce them and just went for blunt force instead.
Boob plate is a completely optional aesthetic feature which has little to no impact on the protection offered. There are real life examples of more extreme aesthetic choices on actual suits of armour.
While common, swords are not only weapon used in middle ages. Try axe or halberd.
Of course, the issue is not strictly black&white. There are designs which are still high on aesthetic without sacrificing much effectivity. On the other hand, there are metal bikini and pieces of armor based on similar idea which definitely DO have that disadvantage. In case of stars’ power armors, I would actually be more worried about how the sternum plate and boob plates connect … better design would be if it would be SINGLE plate.
Also, some historical suits of armor were ceremonial, for formal battles or designed by idiots.
Wow, I bet Irah reeeaaaallllyyy likes being called “Shorty”.
I wonder if the Star Guard wear chastity belts? On this planet, that seems like the first piece of armor they would invent.
This planet or ours, armor already need to and does protect that area as well as possible while preserving the freedom of movement. If fairies started from scratch, they MIGHT considered chastity belts first, but they DIDN’T – they adapted already existing advanced armor design of Draigjibies.
Oh by the way Irah reacted so angrilly to Earth fairy’s coment because she once did try to “join the fight” by joining Warrion citadel. It did not go well

Wonder how negotiation with Armagon is gonna go. Also, this plan, I bet they plan on digging up the whole plant and incinerating it.
the starguard armor looks so cool! really like that eventails are armored and has a metal cap at tail end

I don’t think that they can beat the monster. Something is telling me so. Sorry if I’m wrong.
