Can’t say this is something a therapist would approve of.
But yeah, aside from that, it’s about time we address what Armagon is. I’m gonna throw my bet’s in for, Sentient A.I. (possibly made from a combination of magic/technology)
… on the other hand, the fairy island is how big? 200km? Armagon is likely higher. Let’s see … orbiting in about 60 hours … assuming same hours as we have … about 71000km? That’s HIGH. Are you sure it’s going to attack on next fly over fairy island?
… wait. I forgot to take into account the rotation of planet.
… 33000km? With the planet making 4 rotations and Armagon 3? Not entirely sure about the calculation … anyway, the dreven-stationary orbit is about 27000km above planet and it needs to be higher.
Armagon isn’t at a geostationary orbit, and doesn’t need to be directly aimed at the fairies to attack. Orbit-to ground attacks, either from Earth or Dreven, can be done in any time frame you want, it simply depend how fast you wanna deorbit the object into the planet. Above earth, we can deorbit a return capsule in an hour or so, but some sattelites’ orbit will take 150 years to decay into an atmospheric entry.
The 60 hrs is a deadline armagon gave the fairies to kill the nihallaks before they’re deemed unstoppable.
The image represent the path of kinetic bombardment of armagon because star is talking about armagon launching a kinetic bombardment by de-orbiting asteroids. It’s an animation she’s using to illustrate her point, not a live feed or anything. You’re thinking about it too hard and therefore completely missing the point, and if you’re gonna keep implying I don’t know what I’m doing while you’re the one who can’t read what’s written properly, just stop commenting.
All good. I see you like the setting as much as me and like to dig in to it in similar fashion. Just try not to get stuck on the little details, that’s all

Are you sure?
Still, this is strategically important.
What if there are Draigjibies on it?
If i recall all of them are dead
Well 1 survived.
can’t rule’em all out…
isn’t the Queen a f-jibiy tho
she was a F-jiby, that was modified into a War-jiby. F-jibies were made based on the Draigjibies
some extra info about them can be looked up in lore section here:

Actually, Armagon may not be THAT high. Space isn’t high, it’s fast: https://what-if.xkcd.com/58/

sorry I am not really understanding calculations on my part. did you factor in that Draven is smaller than Earth?
in any case think author could give better answer here
Yes, I did factor that Draven is smaller and has lower gravity.

… so, the image on page 473 is symbolic and is not supposed to say that Armagon is going to take 60 hours to get over fairy island.
If you are going to write some numbers into comics, you may want to look this image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_orbits#/media/File:Comparison_satellite_navigation_orbits.svg for rough explanation of how is radius of orbit related to orbital period. Shouldn’t be hard to recompute it and redraw for Dreven. Also see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_orbits and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbital_period

Sorry. I honestly though it IS live feed.
… also, yes, now I see the red path starts in asteroid belt, not at Armagon.
Also, I think you draw better than Randall Munroe. Way better.
