298, you are not thinking about it correctly. Don’t think about if the fairies now are same as in that other version of reality, that’s just distraction. The information is from the reality-rewriting fairy. She has some goal. You can either decide to go with her or against her. If she will lose, she will rewrite reality and try again. If she will win and you were against her, you will lose. If she will win and you were with her, that’s the only option where you MAY win. (Unless her plan involves sacrificing you … then you are fucked no matter what you will do.)
Yeah seems they not realized their situation or think the rewind was a one off thing
Also since 298 did not find a log of him logging in to hypercomputer when core was online, it means the nihallaks never reached this far (or that this is very first timeline with them surviving)
First timeline with them activating the computer, at least. It’s possible there was timeline where Nihallaks surfaced when the Stars were around to see it and destroyed them before they deployed their technology.
So, this is important. Does this information come from the Previous timeline, or One of the previous timelines?
Because if it’s from the previous one, That’s good. Then everything is going as planned.
If it’s Not, Lucky is going to have to deal with timeline pollution, and that’s potentially going to screw up any plan she has in the future…present? You know what I mean.
The hypercomputee is stored in different pocket dimmension, so Lucky can’t affect it. This mean that 298 log in to the hyper computer has been documented and remain within the core even if lucky rewinds time
However if I recall author said nihallaks wont be able to look up stuff that would happen later down the line until they happen. As in if Lucky rewound time tomorrow, 298 would find his log in attempt bit could not look up stuff that will happen next day (i think it was due to hyper computer being so wast). Granted, this was during a talk long ago and might have changed
Timeline pollution? Why? The previous timelines are rewritten completely. Well, completely except the computer.
So, as long as the timelines between the one the log was created and current one didn’t get to the point where the computer could be connected to, no problem.
The problem is the Information. Knowing the alternative path’s that already happened will mean that they know what lucky already Did, and potentially what she may be Planning to do. So they can create countermeasures to anything she tries that they don’t find agreeable.
Say she has to sacrifice alot of Nhils. The emperor doesn’t like that, but that’s how she changes the future. They stop her, and end up dooming everyone by proxy of Not knowing that far ahead. And lucky won’t know because she doesn’t know that the information exists.
But the information is limited. It’s not like they know everything – they know just what they manage to record to the computer. If she sacrifices lot of Nihallaks there may be noone left who would record that.
It’s true that if Lucky isn’t aware of this possibility she might be too complacent thinking she can always retry and then be surprised. However, for meta reasons, I don’t think we will see that many retries anyway – the comics would get too long and too hard to follow.
We don’t know how much information is in it. If it’s enough information to give them the understanding that there’s a powerful time traveling super being…well, I’ve seen enough Doctor Who to know how bad thing’s can get.
Assuming of course they can figure out how her power’s even work (which we haven’t actually seen yet). Though they are mostly competent fairy hunter’s. Soooo, this should be interesting.
@Nextgener: Competent fairy hunters? So far they successfully hunted fairies from villages and small cities, using moment of surprise. That doesn’t show that much. They are yet to meet actual fairy military, stars or dark fairies. Or, well, group of chaos fairies instead of individuals.
From meta perspective, they are probably going to show to be relatively competent, otherwise stars would destroy them too soon. But we are yet to see it.
@kwhwwymwn: Right. They have yet to meet actual fairy military, dark fairies or group of chaos fairies instead of individuals, AND they have yet to survive meeting star fairy.

Looks like your interpretation on the previous page is more accurate than mine. Congrats.
Thanks.

Some nihallaks (314, 345, 743) did encounter a star fairy, and it didn’t ended well for them
