Not a good analog; fried potato chips (and other chips) are calorie dense. But I get what you mean. More like trying to suck water from a rock, or eating raw celery, which has negative calories. I can see Drain taunting the nihallak, “Try harder! I feel nothing!”, until the poor thing passes out from exhaustion.
Nice one Ophidiophile, I was just about to mention the celery thing, except I might have said it has NET negative calories after consumption by humans. Definitely has calories, but less than what is burned chewing and digesting it.
Likewise, any nihallak & the ship’s energy extraction chamber would probably lose more energy than gained from…. “Drain”? I’d think that was a typo, but it actually makes sense! 😄 –JR

What would happen if a nihallak tried to feed from Grain?
It’d be like eating chips. Lot of effort, little to no actual energy lol.
hahahaha

Poor nihallak or poor Grain? 😄
