I’m stumped; I can’t figure out who is trying to contact Star. None of the fairies that I’ve looked up have the same speech color, and there is more of a flourish (ornamentation) to the text style than any other. The regular fairies are (I think) comic sans? The star fairies have some flourish, but the unknown sender has the most. Compare the speech bubbles in the bottom panels. The amount of flourish probably indicates power, but who has more power than the star fairies? And the color seems to be between fire, magic, and electric.
Looks like a certain queen’s font style to me… But the colour seems a bit darker then the references I’ve looked at so far. My guess would be a surviving Draigjiby
I hadn’t considered the Queen, since there was no way she would know the name of any star fairy, but you’re right, the font is the same. Different color. So maybe font indicates either power, or age of the type of fairykind, with Draigjibies and F-jibies being older than all fairies. Since she says she needs to talk to Star, if that means in person, then her location would be either the citadel, or she could be hiding in the forest nearby. She could be the last of the Draigjibies, staying hidden from everyone else so that fairy civilization could develop without having a god distorting it, but sticking around in case of trouble, like Nihallaks showing up. Or maybe she’s stayed silent, like Armagon, until Nihallaks showed up.
Good spot on the various fonts. I never consciously thought about the Stars having a fancier font than the rest of the fairies, but I went back and re-read a bunch of pages, and you’re right. Plus, the Queen has the fancier font as well, so that definitely argues for either a secret surviving Draigjiby, or someone of equivalent age/power, which could, I suppose, be something we haven’t seen yet.
Not to mention, whatever it is, it’s POWERFUL. It seems like when whomever it is raised their ‘voice’, it gave Star an instant migraine. It would have to be an insanely powerful psychic voice to do that to a Star Fairy.
EDIT: Hmmmm…just checked the Lore page. I wonder if it could be another F-Jiby, or even a War-Jiby. According to the Ancient Past lore page, Draigjibies weren’t actually that magically powerful. Their power lay in their physical forms and their tech. But F-Jibies were magically super powerful to feed the Nihalaks, and War-Jibies were based on F-Jibies, thus, were just as potentially powerful, but didn’t use their magic directly, they used it to power suits.
But if a War-Jiby survived and has had 5000 years to learn to harness it’s magic (perhaps helped by the Stars in secret, since it knows Star by name, and knows her well enough to mentally contact her directly), it would be CRAZY powerful, magically speaking.
Plus, it would be a cool new character to introduce, given that their whole purpose was fighting Nihalaks. It would make a major difference in the coming war.
That’s just my speculation/two cents, anyway. Hopefully we’ll all know soon. 😀
It’s a stumper for sure. My guess is Armagon. ☄️ Who else might be able to communicate telepathically with speech text that we’ve never seen? Monolith? That’d be horrifying 😬 but maybe possible.
Wouldn’t say huge, we’ve seen larger fairies, like Aquei and Leonne, but she is tall by human female standards. I also think there might be an optical illusion play here as well, the green fairy next to Amora also appears taller than Star and the blue fairy. You can check the previous page to see Amora and Star side by side. Amora is 20cm taller than Star according to their stat pages.
I got similar comments all over the place, I didn’t realize it would be a big deal but that’s my bad as an artist. Amora is bigger yes, but what’s going on in that panel is just perspective. Star is bent over a bit from the pain, her and her aid are closer to us in a more “isometric” perspective while the others are a tad further. That’d be obvious on a zoomed out panel, like the one where they walk away on the previous page.

Also, side note, Amora is wildly hot. Jeez.
Armagon allready did the sparkles and besides it did not really sound like a living entity has no reason to talk like that right now.
Geez, Amora is huge.

Optical illusion? I think there are stairs there.
