… as I was saying. But yes, Holly has lot of experience and knows exactly when to switch from words to boost to get the best effect without people feeling pushed.
I suspect Aquei is about to do something stupid in the “hold my beer” category. Hopefully Holly and Irah arrives quickly enough to prevent any lasting damage.
Just discovered FvT tonight and read all of it. In one night.
What a gem of a treasure this comic is. I stopped caring about the porn and started caring about the story…and then went BACK to caring about the porn when it got even better! That’s almost impossible for me with stuff about rape; it either ticks one box or the other. But you got it, man. You got it.
There’s been cool moments all throughout the story. I’ll never forget Star going nova (pg 243-4) or the Queen getting serious (pg 351-2). But for me, the biggest standout so far was pretty much ALL of Chapter 12. The lore dumps were glorious, the porn was delicious, the body horror was out-of-this-world and the plot twists? *chef’s kiss* Perfection. I really do think it’s the high point of the comic so far. So if you’re worried about losing your touch, don’t be; if anything, you’re getting better.
I won’t pretend the comic is flawless, of course. It’s gotten pretty complicated over the years, and occasionally it’s a bit wordy. (I’ll never forget Ex’s dialogue on pg 520 either, lol.) And as fun as the sidestories can be, I found myself skimming through them at times so I could get back to the main arc. Hopefully I didn’t miss any important info that way.
None of that spoils things for me, though. In fact it barely makes a difference. This’s still easily one of the best porn stories I’ve read, and probably THE best when it comes to comics. Thank you so much, Eldrik, for creating it, and for keeping up with it all this time.
Thank you for the kind words and review! The comic has gone a bit lenghty with the introduction of many fan characters and their own story. If I was to do over, I would put them in mini comics separate from the main plot, which I might still do in the future. It’s the longest project I ever worked on and it show some growing pains, but the ending is already planned out, it won’t go forever or meander it’ll just take a long time to get there.
Always in favor of a series having an ending. I’ve dropped too many series in the past because they just wouldn’t know how/when to end. To the point where scenario’s or character’s end up retreading the same plot point’s they’ve already been through. (I’m looking at you anime)
I think most people have gotten better at keeping they’re narrative’s at a more reasonable length throughout the year’s. Long form narrative’s are impressive if you can keep them going. But they are so difficult to pull off unless your certain you know what your doing.
I know planning thing’s out 5-10 year’s down the line isn’t easy. But if your going into any project with that length in mind, it can really put thing’s into perspective and help avoid all the common pitfall’s I’ve seen many series go through.
FvT was originally planned as a 10 years long project, but a lot has happened that changed the timeline, including health issues that made me go from 2 pages a week to 1, basically doubling the project length and that’s before story tweaks. In a perfect world I would have the funding to hire assistants and speed things up to completion, but for now at least, we just gotta hope I can see the project to its end.
Like I said, not easy. It’s great to say “as long as this pace is kept up”, but the universe is not a constant. You’ve gotten this far, and it’s been a hell of a job well done. If it take’s a little longer than planned, that’s fine. As long as the Roller Coaster reach’s it’s end point, and the last loop doesn’t end up spiraling into a never ending series of loops. (…that was a terrible analogy)
With good worldbuilding, you can have multiple stories in same comics without repeating yourself and without dragging any single story too long. Granted, some anime starts repeating in third episode already.

“I fixed a mistake” is such an artist way of saying “I changed something that 99% of the reader’s won’t notice but I do so it Must Be Fixed!”.
That’s true most of the time lol but this time there was a genuine text color error that a few readers across the various platform noticed.
I’m sorry, I seem to be good at noticing the most mundane things…

Looking forward to the rest!
