Did it ever occurred to you that you trying to control everything may LEAD to war? Especially if you start denying entertainment to your subjects. Never heard about “panem et circenses”?
You had five thousand years. Any progress in that “taking care of”? Or do you like status quo too much to start expanding?
It is well documented that change happens not by changing everyone’s minds, but by the old guard dying off and letting the new ones come in without the prejudices of previous schools of thought.
