Do fairies use those terms derived from videogames they don’t have in-universe or is that just description of their roles for us?
Those were most likely for readers. Though I do imagine “healer” or “tank” could be still used by fairies
Healer, sure. Tank, no. There is no way to make the association between “cistern for water” and “really tough fighter” without the middle point of “armored vehicle which we call tank because the hull sort of looks like water tank and we need to keep its true purpose secret until we have them enough for deployment”.
Fairies presumably don’t have armored land vehicles, and even if they had them, they wouldn’t need to keep them secret that way.
(Hmmm … it’s true that based on images from the forest tank probably would be able to operate there, but I suspect the forest is actually harder to get through than it looks.)
Wait a minute. Grain wasn’t using a hammer; she was using a short sword, or a very long knife.
Maybe Lucent should form her own group, the Swords. Or the Axes. Although in this situation, giant scissors would be fantastic.
No, giant scissors would be useless, as it would be hard to close them, especially with some blood on the joint. The correct tool would be definitely axe. Also, I would assume the weapons Grain were using were daggers, although note that blacksmiths did NOT, historically, create any guild rules for classification of weapons prohibiting creating something which is hard to classify.
Oh. And I think forming own group is forbidden by star fairies. On the other hand, I suspect that despite Lucent’s joke, Hammers are not forbidden from using other weapons.
Also, like, what about weapon with hammer on one side and axe on another?

Q: Are there official fairy combat forces that are not part of fairy guard or affiliated with the arch fairies, but are still allowed to exist in fairy society? For example combat guilds for protecting cargo.
A: The ones that officially exist, if they are not affiliated to the arch fairies, are regulated by the star fairies or the military, that comet control. Now there are certainly guilds that walk a fine line by pretending to be something else, like a neighborhood watch, or first responders, or “adventurers” etc. And depending on where they are located, the star or arch fairy in the area can turn a blind eye as long as they don’t cause trouble, but they are not offered any support and are at the mercy of any change in the politic climate, such as a change of arch fairy.
Also, giant scissors would endanger any fairies that the team was trying to rescue from being swallowed whole. As would swards, to a lesser extent. Axes too, even less than swords.
Not when used just on the tentacles.
Grain doesn’t use a hammer because:
1) She is only an honorary member
2) As a dud she can’t fly withouth aid. So its better to travel in lighter gear. Thats why she the only one in leather armor
oh and grain is using daggers – small and easy to carry. she not expected to take on the giant monsters
