So star faeries are basically responsible for all major leadership’s around the island?
Then how come they’re technology is so advanced, but so limited to they’re culture? Wouldn’t it benefit everyone to expand they’re technological range along with they’re magical?
Or is this a case of fractured state’s, where after the war, nobody wanted anything to do with anyone.
The issue with technology is that it require vast amount of ressource to be made. Think of all the industrial infrastructure you need just to build a laptop. Supporting this kind of thing for all fairykind would kill the biosphere, where magic actually keep the biosphere alive. Star fairies use a trickle down principle tho and do share some new technology over time when they feel its can be use safely and without long term issues. Magic crystals for example were made available to all after the war, as it is a clean energy source.
“Just” laptop? Computers are basically the thing needing most infrastructure, like, maybe except space shuttles. It’s because they are like concentrated, there are lot of very different parts in small volume. Also, CPUs are the most complicated things our civilization is capable of building. Billions of transistors, and it’s not regular structure, well, cache is, but rest of CPU is very irregular. For comparison, number of parts in aircraft is just in millions.
Of course, WE don’t have nanotechnology. Not really. Which goes two ways: On one hand, nihillium can be probably used to build computer chips with much less infrastructure. On the other, it’s possible that the egg cave is more complicated than CPUs, and not just because it likely contains lot of them or some of their equivalent.
As she explains here, while some Star faeries have deemed it appropriate to share much of the tech with their people, Nebula and Solaris prefer a simpler existence and so have not spread tech where they live/rule.
Especially with the fairies restricted to one single island! Take Easter Island. It was rich in natural resources, and the natives lived well. In their thankfulness, and lack of knowledge they decimated their ecosystem by overusing wood in the making and transportation of those huge statues, and now it is a barren and resource-poor place, and the natives barely eke out survival. Now imagine a modern industrial infrastructure on a similarly rich island. Overuse of the resources that were being reduced by pollution, no monsters any more to cull the population… A whole planet can barely sustain what we have now, a single island would be ravaged in a century! Or less!

Yeah that is the case. Stars did share some tech but not everything and not every region is at same tech level
