This chapter will be lore-heavy, but I think it’s a fair balance after the chapter we just finished. I hope you like it!

About time we got around to the Star Fairy’s plan.
I’m guessing it’s “Were Going To Space Girls!” (…wait, are fairy’s classified as female since males don’t exist?)
technically, fairies are synchronous hermaphrodites, they are both male and female at the same time
I’ve been trying to work out their society’s view on gender. They use terms like “sister”, which implies that they consider themselves female, even if they have hermaphroditic sex organs. They make reference to male draigjibies though (green hair to the queen, in reference to their organs), so they absolutely have the concept of gender, but it really doesn’t seem to come up much.
They totally have female body shape and secondary sexual characteristics though, and are definitely intended to be interpreted as female to the… *ahem*, “scientific minded” among us.
*Edit* oh look, in the very next comic we have someone say “hey girls”. That settles that then.
I also think they are using “she” as pronounces …
Also, note that animals seems to have traditional genders, which would be another reason why they have the concept besides the historical books about draigjibies many of them studied for … *ahem* educational purposes.
