Glad to be back after all this time, catching up again. I notice that the leech is smarter than it seems like it ought to be. It got excited by the amount of Nihillium in Zak, but bit the grunk in order to provoke it into accidentally releasing the leech. Nice one Eldrik. Subtle.
On a certain page Eldrik responds to someone that the Nihallaks were intelligent and that the monsters which descend more or less from them are animals without intelligence but personally I do not believe this explanation I am sure that the nihillium contains a little of their intelligence it would explain why this leech has the intelligence necessary to escape the cage, it would also explain why the sea monster seemed to know certain things about the bodies of the fairies, it could explain why the Strategodin seem intelligent and finally that would explain where the abilities of the Memory Thief come from, certainly their intelligence comes from the fact that they steal the memories of the fairies but they have psychic powers and that doesn’t come from nowhere it doesn’t come from their nature as plants so according to my hypothesis the nihillium contains a little of the intelligence of the Nihallaks I hope that my hypothesis comes a little closer to reality and if it turns out to be false it will take a good and detailed explanation to convince me!

I like how the other handler has decided it’s more important to chase after the grunk than deal with the deadly thing in the cage.
It’s possible she didn’t realized the cage is broken.
Yeah that seems to have been the case
Well they’re definitely fired.
…wait, no one hired them.
Well they were hired to get the leech back alive. Though not sure that will work out

(I also like the call-out to the movie ‘Tremors’ in the appearance of the leech…)
