Ah, and here we see why Star is able to see herself as the noble hero while still doing dubious things on occasion. “It’ll all be worth it in the end, I can undo all of this suffering if only I win.”
Reminds me of Nox from Wakfu but with a more cheerful disposition and much better PR.
Yup! She definitely has a bad case of Noximilien’s Madness. Honestly she is a much worse person overall, as she is driven by megalomania. Nox on the other hand really pulls at the heart strings.
if it was that simple, star would have already done it. We know she hasn’t though, so obviously star is delusional about how easy it would be to alter a timeline the right way.
She could not. Even if it would be technically possible (which might) and one change wouldn’t invalidate other (which probably would), it would require level of micromanaging she wouldn’t be able to achieve … and also, what will be left of other people free will?
We are not sure if Lucky tried micromanaging already and failed or if she realized it’s stupid idea without trying. What she’s doing now is definitely more limited.
Indeed. On top of that the whole idea of mastering Kulthma technology is bit bonkers, and that is just the first step in her plan. This is not an apples to oranges kinda thing, more like apples to stable neutronium as the Kulthma came from an entirely divergent set of universal laws, so their experiences, thoughts and even the way they viewed the world would be almost incomprehensible. Then you have the fact that fairies rely on high-planar energy to live, and even star fairies have no real idea how the rules/laws of that plane work/interact with other worlds. The words “long shot” hardly even start to describe it.
Actually, we already got fairy who’s considered alive despite lacking high-planar energy link. And remember that nihillium IS Kulthma technology which fairies already shown pretty good control of. No, I don’t think mastering Kulthma technology is the hard part, although the hypercomputer might prove to be more complicated than nihillium.
I love how it hasn’t occurred to Star that maybe Lucky has already tried that. I mean Lucky is odd sure but she is not odd enough to want bad things to happen which means star is deluding herself thinking Lucky hasn’t tried at least once and this might just be the best timeline so far.
It depends on how insane Star thinks Lucky is. Star and Monitor must have some immunity from changes in the timeline, otherwise they wouldn’t know Lucky was changing it. They might view Lucky’s meddling as that of someone who is mad, possibly intent on destroying everything, so stopping Lucky means saving everyone. And once you believe your success is necessary to save everyone, it doesn’t matter how many people die as you try to achieve that goal.
No, the point was to gain the ability to exist outside the timeline. Lucky had given Flynn that ability, which Monitor observed, and she and Star were going to gain the ability as well. https://eldrikdgt.com/fvt/main/page-631/

I see, Star, that you lie effortlessly even to yourself.
Hahaha. True
Oof. Star is tragic. R.I.P. her chances of living contentedly ever again. R.I.P. her rational mind.

… on occasion, right. Like the occasion of the day ending on -y.
Ya know what the sad part is? She probably could do it if everything panned out in her favor.
I doubt it’ll all play out that simply though.

The hard part is really the micromanaging.
Not a traditional looking throne.

Wasn’t the whole point of this meeting to get immunity from the timeline changes? Implying they didn’t have them before?

They don’t have full immunity, but apparently they got some sort of awareness of it.
But yes they underestimate Lucky. If it would be so easy Lucky would already be doing it.
