Oof, poor Star. That little force field is not quite the aura blast that she demonstrated at the beginning of this meeting.
I think her best chance now is to bide her time, hold onto her orgasms, and build up energy until she has enough to send an SOS to the other star fairies. They could save her. Would it wound Star’s pride? Sure, but at least she will fly free to fight another day.
When I first read the author’s comment, I thought it said “Star rolled a 1 on that butt”, which I thought was referring to a failed saving throw for the last panel. My brain is weird (but really, really clever).
There were certainly better opportunities for monolith, not when star was about to prevent armagon from destroying her and trying to find a cure for her condition.
Sure, i agree it is possible right now where it was impossible before.
Yet Monolith should be reasonable enough to see that the chance to get cured and live another 1000 years is better than capture Star and die next week.
Besides that with star being what she is there is no real way to capture her and keep her.
Which Monolith should know by now. After all she mentioned interaction before.
So the one thing that Monolith can safely do now, is kill star. Which gains her nothing.
You two make good points. It’s an interesting situation. Maybe all Monolith is trying to do here is intimidate, punish, and hurt Star. If she really succeeds in frightening Star, breaking Star’s illusion of invincibility, it could buy Monolith a bit more time, as Star and her sisters might not feel as confident in their ability to dispose of Monolith.

Does Monolith not know that Star can prevent others from harvesting the power she generates? These two are going to bang, aren’t they.
Star gave monolith almost all her energies for the short time travel. Now monolith just railing her not for energy but to make a point

I sorta suspect Monolith is VERY well prepared for this. Aaand Lucky can’t help even if she wanted to, because of timeshift immunity …

I think the timing is weird.

However this only chance when star is at her weakest
Of course, it is an opportunity.
But she had other chances before at times when she had more to gain and less to lose.
Not likely. Star hasn’t visited her for a thousand years. Not to mention bevause star was overexerting herself monolith had easier time calling her
