Gotta give it to Lucky. That is some Grade A Manipulation right there.
Hanging the “I could do anything to you, but I won’t” puts her in a position of power that would naturally strike fear. Unintended or not, she’s playing the card that amy would think about. Even if she didn’t use her power’s on her, who’s to say she won’t use it on other’s? (or her loved ones)
Also the “Star didn’t really ask you”, just, wooow.
She didn’t ask You to manipulate time and invade her dreams either. But you Did, because you thought it was the Right thing to Do. Like a someone would in a crisis. *holds up mirror to lucky*
And Amy’s Right in the end. Star and the council Are the Leader’s. And unless she has any reason to doubt them (which she shouldn’t at this point) there would be no reason to betray her.
In a normal situation. But this is not a normal situation with a normal fairy.
The power difference is real. It’s not even coming from her position, it’s purely her being star fairy and she can’t STOP being star fairy. Lucky can’t talk with Amy as equal because they are not … and only way they can get at least somewhat more equal is if Amy accepts.
Star and the council are leaders … and they were not ELECTED in that position, nor there is any meaningful oversight on them. That’s a BIG reason to doubt them. Then there is that bit about them controlling only way for reproduction AND the fact that when someone disagreed with them they started war over that. Also major red flag. And something she KNOWS, nothing secret. Seriously, Amy has no more reasons to trust Star than Lucky, and that’s taking into account Lucky brought back Nihallaks.
Sure, you can look at it pragmatically: in case of revolution, supporting leaders is usually safer (remember that lot of revolutions fails). But that has nothing to do with trust.
Also, in this case, supporting Star would end up catastrophically, but that’s something only WE know and it’s also only because she was corrupted by Monolith.
The power difference is real, but she pointed it out. She didn’t Have to, but she Did.
And the fact that she did means there would be determinant’s to doing forcibly manipulating her. Otherwise she would have just done it. And morals don’t come into play on her part, we’ve already established star fairies can manipulate memories. She could have manipulated Amy and she’d have been none the wiser.
So she’s either Really hung up on her morals(which as we established is not a huge issue for a time traveler), or she Needs Amy to Agree to this for it to work.
And yes, the star council wasn’t elected. Because if God like figures showed up and laid down the law, you’d need a really damn good reason to object to that. And the land’s they live in are near Utopian at this point. (or atleast that’s how it seems to the general public)
Controlling reproduction at that point is the only real political issue. You’d need to have a stake in it to even feel like you’d wanna care about it, and I don’t think Amy wants kid’s anytime soon. Especially since it’s already a complicated topic with long lived being’s.
So yeah, not withstanding the fact we already know star is corrupted and they don’t, she’d need a Personal reason to wanna go to bat for lucky. But Amy doesn’t have a major steak for either side, so the only card left is to trick her into thinking it’s the only choice.
I already mentioned: there is determinant to forcibly manipulating her and it’s micromanaging. Making her think she choose to help means Lucky doesn’t need to focus so much on telling her what to do. And note: making her THINK she choose to help. It’s possible this whole conversation is something Lucky entered into Amy’s memories, that Amy’s objections are actually made by Lucky just so she can answer them. I don’t THINK she’s doing that, but she COULD.
If the land would be that much Utopian, there wouldn’t be serious revolution against their rule. Chaos fairies needed to have REASON to start the civil war. Sure, it’s possible that it LOOKS utopian to general public.
If the council was given leadership based on them being star fairies, Lucky has as much right to rule as them.
Sure, Amy seems to never think about politics before and is basically supporting star fairies because she was raised that way … but that’s quite weak reason if she would think about it.
Well since there is a downside, you gotta love how she never brought that up. It wasn’t an “It would make it harder” argument. It was an “I don’t want too” argument. That would be admitting to a weakness for her. Funny how she doesn’t like doing that.
Given the fact that the Star has no problem erasing memories, I have no doubt they have no problem spreading propaganda and making themselves always look like the good guys. Which, given how we’ve seen some Chaos Fairy’s act, doesn’t sound hard in the end.
And yes, lucky has the right to rule. But she doesn’t claim it. (well she did in 1 timeline, and that didn’t work out)
So she’s no better in the eye’s of the public (or atleast that’s how you could see spin it) than the bastard child or a pretender trying to take the throne. Amy even says “She’s not real” meaning she’s no better than a fictional story book to the people.
So yeah, being raised by the people who by your eye’s haven’t done anything majorly Wrong doesn’t immediately lead to the idea of betraying them. Star and the council in Amy’s eye’s haven’t done anything Warranting those thoughts. If anything the fact that Lucky admits to bringing back the Nihlliak’s makes her argument the weakest.
Sure she apologized, but she still did it. And hasn’t really explained Why yet. (atleast not to amy)

No, this is “let yourself to be manipulated in the nice way because it’s better than being manipulated in the ugly way”.
But, well … it IS better and Amy really don’t have an option to NOT be manipulated …
@NextGener Controlling reproduction really is essential if they want to keep it a utopia. There are finite resources on the planet, and exponential growth can get out of hand incredibly fast. If not for the magic cave limiting reproduction, the lack of any real predators would mean the fairy population explodes.
I know, that’s why I said it was a Political issue. It’s not a simple “Yes or No” scenario, it’s gonna shift depending on the circumstances.
But you need to have knowledge of how it work’s and what it effects in the long run to understand that. Amy is (by my knowledge) not big on political situations. She gives off the “I wouldn’t have an opinion on it” if you brought it up to her as an issue.
Lack of real predators? You weren’t paid much attention did you? Outside their island, there are so many predators even Star Fairies are not going far from it.
However, if you read the documents hidden in Design sketches and notes section of Bonus Art – documents written by Star fairies and kept secret from general public – you will realize that the magic cave is seriously taxing the resources available on their island, consuming much more than is apparent. It’s likely they CAN’T allow more reproduction without conquering other areas, and in fact it may go worse.
Still, while the total reproduction is limited, the decision who will be allowed to reproduce is still political. Star fairies are persecuting dark fairies and Ominae is rightfully complaining about it.
