Hello everyone, Sokaras here. Just wanted to let you all know that the full Star fairy and Ominae sheets have been uploaded to the site. Normally would not do such an announcement, but since they are important to the setting and the story thought you would want to read up what is the deal with them. Sadly Lucky character sheet wont be uploaded in a while – it only recently got made for supporters. So you will need to wait and make due with the placeholder mini sheet

Hello everyone, Sokaras here! Wanted to inform you all that the Lore index section has been updated.
Largest part of update being the introduction of the Fairy tech section that details the various tech wielded by the fairies. It does not include every tech we will be seeing, but as comic goes on the section will be expanded. For example, while we have seen star weaponry used against the sea monsters they had not been added yet to the Fairy Tech section. This is partially to avoid potential spoilers and because we will get to see what arsenal the star fairies have later.
The Nihallaks section also had significant update detailing their new tech we had been seeing. Similar to fairy section it will be updated as comic goes on whenever we see anything new crafted by our tentacle boys.
Other sections at most got edits and fixing up for now. Hope you enjoying the comic and the small section expanding on the lore within the setting. If you believe other stuff could be expanded upon let me know.

The comic had a few ups and downs in 2021, but things are going well. Since we reached the midpoint of the year, I wanted to show you which pages have been voted best each month so far on the FvT discord. I had to wait a bit until June’s top page goes public to not spoil stuff for you guys 😀

Hi! So, a while back one of the user on the website told me the randomizer for page browsing didn’t work well on the character question section, as it quickly started to show the same pages over and over after a few clicks. I finally got around investigating that, and turns out it is the same with the main comic! I did a few tests, and turns out it’s a starting value issue. If you land on the website and only click “random” it will start looping back to the same page. However, if you click back or forward on any of the page you land on, and click random again, it will truly be randomized.
Please understand that I didn’t build this random function and therefore cannot edit it, well not easily anyway, as it’s an integrated part of the website theme. So, sorry for the inconvenience, but the workaround is fairly easy~
Outside of that. How have you been? Things have been a bit crazy for me at the beginning of the year, but it’s mellowing out now, and Sokaras is doing a wonderful job of maintaining the various sections of the website, particularly fanart. There’s some great stuff over there, go check it out~
Hi everybody! After many requests, I finally got around creating and uploading an updated content pack for both the comic and the bonus artworks. The comic pack contain the chapters 0-7 (we are currently at chapter 8), in higher resolution than what is here, and also all the sketch pages. The bonus pack contain all kind of random artworks, design sketches, character sheet, character questions, dark forest entries that were made between October 2014 and December 2019. The rest remain supporter exclusive on discord, but will probably be released in the following years.

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a nice holiday season despite the existing challenges. I’ve been quite busy myself, rearranging and planning a few new things for 2021, but had a good time regardless. I got some news for you, both good and bad, so let’s get to it!
The bad news:
Fairies vs Tentacles funding suffered greatly in 2020. This shouldn’t be surprising, given most businesses suffered and some billion dollars industries were brought to their knees. I tried to keep the comic going at full speed anyway but it took a toll on me, as you recall I had to take a few breaks due to health issues. This lead me to have a long, serious conversation with my significant other, and then my supporters about what should be done, and here’s how it is: I need to get other artists on board if I want to keep the comic going twice a week. As some of you know, I also work on someone’s else comic called Grim Fate, and I also had to reduce my workload there, and the author hired an other artist for bonus content.
Now this in itself isn’t an issue, as I already have a few artists I know I could count on, but I’m not an exploiter, I want to pay them, which is where the funding issue come into play. Until the comic reach 2000$ a month of funding, the amount of updates will be reduced. For January there are 7 pages planned + bonus content to the supporters. The Good news:
The funding restructuration mean that I will be spending more time on other things that are due, such as the Definitive edition of the comic, which is meant to have fully colored and retouched early chapters, along with fixes, updates and even new pages for the later chapters. There will be also more work done on long due commissions and bonus artworks. Maybe 2021 will be the year I finally make a HD map of the fairy island~
Also, outside of funding issue the comic is doing pretty great, the community is growing here and on discord, and also Sokaras made this compilation of the most popular pages of 2020:

Outside of fvt itself, I will be taking time to relax and get healthy again, and will start making some art for fun and randomness, without pressure or deadlines. Back to my roots or something. So it’s not like I will cut arting drastically, and I know some of you enjoyed my work outside of fvt a lot, so that’s probably a plus. Fun fact, doing a comic page basically require you to do the equivalent 4-6 artworks at the same time! AND writing! Compared to that, drawing a dark elf in a naughty situation takes *minutes*. If I do a lot of these random pieces maybe I’ll end up creating a special section on the website for it, outside of the fvt domain maybe (I got a whole architecture ready for future projects).
Speaking of future projects, if the funding for fvt gets there, with the additional help I’ll be able to tackle some new projects I had planned for a while, and probably push the fvt updates to 3 days a week, eventually. That would be neat, but that’s for the future. Let’s focus on the present. A new year has started, and I hope it’s a good one for all of us. Here we are! While it only took 1 week initially to upload the main comic and the character questions, it took about a year of fiddling and help from Sokaras and Argentus to get all the content and a good chunk of the lore uploaded and organized. This website is now the most unified, comprehensive place to learn more about fairies vs tentacles. It’s not wiki-extensive yet but maybe we’ll get there. While I now consider the website feature complete, it will never truly be complete. I could fiddle with the design, add new features and widgets, turn the fairy island section into a color, interactive map, etc. But it’s pretty good now.
Hello everyone! On October 7th “Fairies vs. Tentacles” celebrated it’s 6th birthday. A bit late, but for the occasion I made this collage of one of the main character – Amy – showing of how much the fairy has changed over the years.

Hi everybody, I just want you all know that due to another instance of kidney stones, worse than before, along with my wife getting sick, I will take the rest of the month off.
There’s been other personal issues I had to deal with as well, and I need some rest to reorganize myself and get back to work properly rather than scrambling to keep things going. It will be a sort of vacation, but one where I don’t go anywhere and just clean my physical and mental space so I can come back in full force.
